An avid runner of 12+ years - started running with my Dad at a young age but wasn't really hit with the bug until he ran his first marathon when I was in college. I thought to myself, "if he can do that so can I" so we trained together ran the marathon together and the rest is history. Although life has changed, including several career and state moves, running has always been my constant. It has been fun to meet new people and having running partners ebb and flow depending on where I've been (albeit disappointing too, not having a constant running partner has been challenging) . However, fast forward a few years and I now have that constant running partner, my sweet pup Ruby! She runs on the roads and loves the trails and has gone as far as 13 miles with me. In order to be fully present and energized enough to run with her though I need to be properly fueled and that's where Picky Bars have come in. I'm not able to zone out during long runs on the trails anymore, I have to be present and mentally with it now that Ruby is with me. Fuel is what keeps me engaged and "with it" and I've found great success eating Picky Bars! As races were cancelled this year Ruby and I ran a number of virtual ones most notably the Run Steep Get High Vertical Challenge - where we covered 45 miles and 7k of vert over 6 days (not bad for Boston!) - and Ruby ran/hiked every mile with me.
