My name is Hollie Hughes, and I am almost 38 years old. I am the mother of 4 children (1 daughter and 3 sons ranging in ages from 16 to 7). I have been running since I was 12 years old. Currently, I run with my son, Jonah, who is aged 10. Jonah has cerebral palsy and a rare epilepsy syndrome. We run together using a Team Hoyt racing wheelchair, as Jonah is non-ambulatory, and our next goal is to complete a 50 miler. Jonah and I have run numerous marathons and half marathons together running a 1:24 half marathon (currently in the process of being verified as a Guinness World Record for female pushing a running wheelchair) and a 3:05 full marathon. At this moment, I am coming back from dealing with adrenal insufficiency. I am incredibly passionate about fighting for inclusion, raising awareness for epilepsy, and de-stigmatizing mental health disorders. Jonah and I have participated in two podcasts: Lindsey Hein's I'll Have Another and Matt Chittim's Rambling Runner if you'd like to learn/hear more about who we are. When I am not racing with Jonah (during the cold winter months), I have participated in the Hyrox fitness competitions, and I set the Hyrox Open Women's World Record in December of 2019.
