I ran XC/track for Arizona State University 1998-2000 after transferring from Phoenix College junior college. I had the pleasure of racing against that bitchin' badass from Stanford, Lauren Fleshman (and she kicked my a$$). I coached XC at Phx College after I burned out on running at ASU, then I found trail running and ultras about 15 years later and fell in love with running all over again! I’ve been fortunate to live in Flagstaff, AZ for 14 years and have been given the opportunity to volunteer with Rob Krar’s ultra camps, where I was introduced to Picky Bars. I ran my first ultra in March of 2017 (Crown King Scramble 50k) and have been hooked ever since, with my love growing even more deeply for this crazy sport - due to the lovely people I never would’ve met, and seeing breathtaking views I never would have seen if not for running. Picky Bars have been my saving grace during ultras, especially the climby ones where I don’t feel like eating anything and my stomach wants to return anything it receives.
