I am a professional photographer, special education teacher, high school track and field coach and a competitive cyclist. I am always reminding my young athletes that competing is about more than competition day: it’s about the work you put in every day, recovering well and eating real food. As a masters athlete, I have to do all the extras in order to compete at the level I want to compete at. That means keeping up with my pre-hab exercises, a lot of intervals, regular strength workouts, a focus on recovery and eating smart. Between my photography business and my career as a special education teacher, I’m super busy but I’m also a grandma who loves spending time with my granddaughter. And even though I’m busy, I’m busy doing the things I love!
